Fried Bananas

Easy, quick dessert; expect to score full marks.


Fried BananasIngredients for about 4 servings:
6-8 bananas
1 egg
100 g flour
2/3 cup of milk
Salt
2 tablespoon sugar
Oil for deep-frying

:

Combine, flour, sugar and salt. Add egg, pour in milk and combine into a smooth, thick batter, just like pancake.

Cut the bananas in 1/2-inch circles. Coat them in batter and deep-fry in hot oil for 3 to 4 minutes or until crispy and golden brown. Remove and drain on kitchen paper.

Pour honey on top, or sprinkle with confectioner sugar, while the banana pieces are still warm; or try with different kinds of jams. They are crispy when warm, soft and spongy when cold.


Hint:
  • Add more milk if batter is thick, or more flour, if batter is too thin.
  • Add sugar and salt to taste.
  • Cut only 1 banana at a time, and while frying it, cut the other banana.
  • Gourmands can try it with cinnamon!
